The Westboro Baptist Church's view on LGBT Relationships

Just recently, the Westboro Baptist Church, based in Kansas, has submitted an amicus brief in one of the Supreme Court's gay marriage cases. The brief warns that Gay marriage, and homosexual marriage in general, will be the ruin of this country.

The brief states that The Babylonian Talmud says that the practice of homosexual love was the reason for Noah's flood. As well, they state that they "have an everlasting and non-delegable duty to warn our fellow citizens... of the consequence of continuing down this path toward same-sex marriage".

On March 26, the Supreme Court is set to decide wheter or not the 14th Amendment allows for marriage that is not between a man and a women. Until then, the question remains on wheter or not, LGBT relationships will be allowed.

Catholic Support for Homosexuality?

Clearly, for a long time, people that participate in same gender relationships... have been looked down upon. Whether actively or privately, one has to admit that there are people that do not like Homosexuals. This is especially true for a country like America, which has a sort of set image for American ideals. Heterosexuality is one of them.

However, recently, Roman Catholic Bishops in France released a document that is supportive of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Relationships. If you can read French, you can find the original document here:

The documents says, and I quote, that "We are able to appreciate the desire for a commitment to fidelity in a love relationship: of a sincere attachment, of a deep caring, one for the other, and of a lasting bond" in same-sex relationships," except in French.

With this apparent sign of Catholic approval of LGBT relationships, the question comes down to whether this will have an effect on some of the Catholic Homophobes and whether it might even change American laws regarding Homosexuality. Who knows?
